You made the investment, you put in the hard work, you should reap the rewards. And with NPPN as your specimen collection support partner – you can!

There will be no more need to source “draw locations” of other laboratories or other third-party contract labor vendors with poor quality control and assurance. And there will be no more waiting in line at a local lab, clinic, or hospital for hours for your clients and their patients just to have a disappointing experience which can reflect poorly on your laboratory and increase barriers to testing utilization.

Our mobile specimen collection solutions are available for a comprehensive range of laboratory specimen collection needs. We offer collection and transport services for all types of specimens. We will not only support your current business but our services have been shown to help you attract new clients through valued added options that expand your reach and increase gross revenues.

Our highly trained, skilled, and compassionate technicians will travel to your facility, your client’s medical office, clinic or even to their patient’s home or place of business. Our certified phlebotomists are trained to collect a wide variety of specimens for both diagnostic and research purposes, and always according to protocols defined by your laboratory.

It is important to understand the unique needs of biotech organizations to provide the best service possible. Whether it is for clinical trials conducted under an IRB, as needed for FDA approval or environmental testing, or for preliminary R&D, NPPN provides biotechnology companies a significant advantage.

What Can We Do For Your Patients?

Our mobile phlebotomists will come directly to your patients. This is extremely beneficial for many patients who are elderly, have limited mobility, have serious health conditions, or simply lack reliable transportation.

For many patients and their families, the idea of going to a lab is a nerve-wracking experience. Not only must transportation be arranged, but then they must contend with traffic only to wait hours in a lab for their name to be called. They then often have a poor experience with inexperienced technicians who are trying to rush through their job due to assembly-line conditions.

Experiences like these have given phlebotomists a bad reputation. In addition, these negative experiences have caused many patients to postpone getting their lab work done, which in turn restricts their access to quality healthcare and yields poor care outcomes.

We think that this common experience is unacceptable. Those with limited mobility or severe health conditions should not be forced to risk their safety by going to a lab in this day and age. Instead, we come to them.

Your patients will never again have to step foot in a lab, deal with an unsympathetic and unqualified technician, worry about samples being mislabeled or improperly collected, or risk exposure to infection.

Helping Biotech Navigate COVID-19

The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency has affected all aspects of medicine, industry, and research. The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency has affected all aspects of medicine, industry, and research.
But NPPN has adapted to the challenge. In March of 2020 we implemented our pandemic response plan, which includes, in addition to all standard biosafety precautions, the CDC and OSHA recommend heightened contact precautions, airborne precautions, and eye protection (e.g., goggles or face shields) to protect patients and our technicians from exposure to the virus. As well, we have established a workforce monitoring program to ensure the safety and health of patients and our front line personnel. This response plan has enabled us to maintain maximum flexibility while responding to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Since March of 2020, many of our healthcare provider clientele have leaned heavily on us with increasing case loads of their at risk patient populations. We are actively engaged in providing direct mitigation of virus spread by enabling these patient to stay home, out of clinic environments, and out of laboratory waiting rooms, while continuing to maintain continuity of care and diagnostic monitoring regimes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

We provide mobile in-home specimen collection and delivery services. We are not a lab and we do not conduct any lab testing or send specimens to a preferred lab. We collect the specimens required, according to the lab order written by your practitioner (your doctor or other authorized diagnostics prescriber), then we deliver those specimens to whatever lab they need to go to.

Can I choose which lab I want to test my specimens?

YES! As a healthcare consumer, you have the right to choose whichever lab you want to perform the tests that your practitioner has ordered for you. However, keep in mind that if you want to have the testing covered by your insurance plan, you may still need to have the testing performed by a lab that is in-network with your insurance provider.

Can I order my own tests?

Usually, the answer is NO. Most states require most diagnostic testing to be ordered by an authorized prescriber (a physician, nurse practitioner, chiropractor, dentist, etc.). However, there are some options if you want to access lab testing on your own. There are some diagnostics reseller companies (online lab) that offer direct to consumer testing services, but the results still need to be interpreted by an authorized practitioner before you get the results. This is typically done through a telemedicine (online video conference) appointment you will have with a practitioner affiliated with the online lab company.

I have a lab kit, can you help me?

YES! We are very familiar with a vast array of diagnostic lab kits and specialty testing services. Our technician will collect the specimens, process them according to the kit instructions, package and drop off the lab kit to the designated shipping carrier (usually FedEx, UPS, USPS).

Do you take my health insurance?

We work with many insurance plans, including managed care plans. However, we cannot bill Medicare or Medicaid directly. For anyone who is not a covered member of a participating health plan, we can provide an insurance claim form so you can get reimbursement according to your plan’s coverage options. However, be aware that in most cases you must be limited mobility, home bound, or have some other medical reason necessitating coverage for in-home care services, in order to receive
coverage or reimbursement for these services.

How much does it cost?

There is a one-time fee on a per draw basis. The fee is usually no more than $99.

Do you offer services in my area?

We have technicians in all of the major metropolitan areas in the United States. If you are not sure if you live in an area where we have coverage, please feel free to reach out to our operations support team. We are happy to help.

Can I schedule services for someone else?

YES! If you are a caregiver, family member or other party responsible for the patient’s care, you can schedule service on behalf of the patient.

What do I need to schedule services?

Usually you will need to provide us a copy of the lab order(s), and a copy of your insurance information so the lab will bill your insurance for the testing.
