Mobile Specimen Collection for Practitioners & Health Systems

Eliminate the Access Gap in Post-Discharge and Chronic Care

Mobile phlebotomy and diagnostic specimen collection that reaches homebound patients, supports post-discharge follow-up, and improves quality performance without adding staff overhead.

Close the loop on post-discharge care

You discharge a patient with clear follow-up orders, labs in 48 hours to monitor recovery. But the patient never makes it to the lab. Transportation issues, mobility limitations, or simply forgetting in the chaos of returning home mean the lab work does not happen.

When ordered labs go uncompleted, complications can go undetected, and patients can return to the ER within the 30-day window. DASHealth Dx helps close this gap by bringing specimen collection to people where they are.

Common points of failure:

  • Post-discharge lab orders go uncompleted
  • Chronic care monitoring gets delayed
  • Skilled nursing and assisted living collections require complex coordination
  • Rural patients face long travel times to a draw site
  • Home health agencies struggle to arrange timely collections

Access Barriers Are Costing You More Than You Think

Your clinical teams know the care plan. The lab order is entered. However, when patients can't physically access a lab, the entire care delivery system stalls.

The Impact:

  • Quality metrics suffer – HEDIS gaps remain open, star ratings decline
  • No-shows waste resources – Scheduled appointments that never happen
  • Readmissions increase – Post-discharge labs get missed, complications go undetected
  • Patient populations underserved – Homebound seniors, mobility-limited, rural patients left behind
  • Revenue at risk – Value-based care penalties, decreased reimbursement

Transportation barriers aren't just patient problems; they're health system performance problems.

Where Mobile Phlebotomy Drives Enterprise Value

1. Value-Based Care Performance

Close HEDIS gaps for diabetes management, breast cancer screening, and preventive care measures. Reach non-compliant patients who skip lab appointments due to transportation barriers.

Result: Improved quality scores, higher reimbursement rates, better contract performance

2. Post-Acute Care Transitions

Ensure that post-discharge lab work is completed on schedule for patients with CHF, COPD, surgical conditions, and other high-risk conditions. Reduce 30-day readmissions through timely monitoring.

Result: Lower readmission penalties, better patient outcomes, reduced costs

3. Chronic Disease Management Programs

Support patients requiring frequent monitoring, such as those with diabetes, kidney disease, anticoagulation therapy, or oncology. Eliminate the burden of repeated lab visits.

Result: Better adherence, fewer complications, improved population health metrics

4. Homebound & Senior Populations

Serve elderly patients in assisted living, skilled nursing, or aging at home. Eliminate transportation as a barrier to essential testing.

Result: Expanded patient access, improved patient satisfaction scores

5. Specialty Care Coordination

Complex diagnostic testing for oncology, cardiology, neurology, and other specialties requiring precise specimen handling and timing.

Result: Accurate results, proper specimen handling, reduced recollection rates

Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

We provide mobile in-home specimen collection and delivery services. We are not a lab and we do not conduct any lab testing or send specimens to a preferred lab. We collect the specimens required, according to the lab order written by your practitioner (your doctor or other authorized diagnostics prescriber), then we deliver those specimens to whatever lab they need to go to.

How do you help with quality performance testing and metrics?

We help health systems improve completion rates for quality measures by eliminating patient access barriers. For HEDIS, MIPS, or value-based care metrics that require lab work, we ensure tests are not left uncompleted due to transportation issues.

Do you work with pediatric patients?

Yes. Our technicians are trained in pediatric phlebotomy and work regularly with children's hospitals and pediatric practices. We understand the unique needs of anxious children and parents.

Can you support our Home Health or hospital-at-home programs?

Yes. We work with health systems implementing home-based care models. Our technicians coordinate with your care teams to provide specimen collection as part of comprehensive home health services.

What about post-discharge patients and readmission prevention?

We specialize in post-acute transitions. For CHF, COPD, surgical, and other high-risk patients requiring timely follow-up labs, we ensure testing happens on schedule—helping reduce 30-day readmissions.

Can you handle the volume for a large health system or hospital network?

Yes. We currently serve major academic medical centers and multi-hospital networks. For enterprise accounts, we dedicate resources and can commit to service level agreements.

What geographic areas do you serve?Do you offer services in my area?

We operate in 50+ major metropolitan areas. If you need service in markets where we currently do not operate, we can typically establish coverage within 2-4 weeks by hiring and training local teams.

Can I schedule services for someone else?

YES! If you are a caregiver, family member or other party responsible for the patient’s care, you can schedule service on behalf of the patient.

Do you integrate with our EMR?

We offer HL7 integration for Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, and other major EMR systems. Orders flow electronically to us, and we send collection confirmations back to your system. If EMR/LIS/IT integration isn't feasible, we support ordering via secure online portal, phone, fax, or email.

How does pricing work for health systems?

Volume-based pricing with discounts for committed annual collections. We work with your procurement team to structure a contract that fits your budget and expected utilization patterns.

How do you ensure quality and consistency?

All technicians are W-2 employees (not contractors), receive standardized training, and follow strict protocols. We maintain a 99% specimen collection completion rate and conduct regular quality audits.

What types of specimens and tests can you handle?

Beyond routine blood draws, we handle specialty lab kits, genetic testing, timed collections, complex protocols, and research-grade specimens. Our technicians are trained in proper handling for various specimen types.

What happens if a collection can't be completed?

Our 99% completion rate means this rarely occurs. When it does (patient refusal, medical contraindication, difficult access), we immediately notify the ordering provider and document the attempt for clinical records.

Do you work with labs we already partner with?

Yes. We deliver specimens to the laboratories you designate, including Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, hospital-based labs, specialty reference labs, and research facilities.
